Vanilla Workshops

Hi, i am Sylvie, pioneer of vanillology, cultivating Vanilla vines and curing vanilla pods in agroforestry and indoor since 2015, and organizing professional Vanilla Workshops in Switzerland and worldwide. Since over ten years, I am accompanying and train vanilla professionals – cultivators, artisans, traders, processors, delicatessens and chefs – on vanilla species, terroirs, cultivation, refining, preservation, processing, trade and market analysis. These training courses and support services are often sought by professionals who have a project or are already in business and wish to deepen their knowledge and structure their offering around vanilla. I can also do it for free for agroforestry cultivators natives of the Caribbean, the Pacific, the African continent and other producing regions.

Vanilla cultivators, as well as ‘sourcers’ (resellers) notably in Paris, Geneva and Zürich, and professional chefs, chocolatiers, distillers and perfumers, consult me regularly on technical, commercial and strategic issues related to vanilla. Sylvanilla training courses are aimed at cultivators, artisans, chefs and vanilla professionals who wish to deepen their understanding of vanilla species, terroirs, cultivation methods, refining, storage, processing and cooking, as well as trade, export - import and related documents. These courses draw on 35 years of cumulative professional expertise and field experience also gained working with cultivators and agroforestry projects in the Caribbean, in Africa, in Asia and in the Pacific, as well as numerous individual consultations carried out at the request of professionals willing to develop their knowledge about vanilla. 
Some of these training courses take the form of one-off consultations, others of regular support, presentiel and online, depending on the needs and level of expertise of the participants.

During this workshop I show you how to start a Vanilla plantation from few vines already, how to cultivate, to nurture and maintain, how to pollinate during the flowering seasons, how to harvest, to cure and refine the green Vanilla pods according to differents methods, and how to properly store your vanilla pods so that they will bonify with age. The workshop is provided in English and in French.

 

Accompanying vanilla cultivators and professionals on vanilla species, terroirs, refining and processing, as well as on trade market analysis is also important to me. The support service I provide are sought by privates and professionals with a project or already in business, who wish to deepen their knowledge about Vanilla and structure their offer. Cultivators, as well as ‘sourcers’ (resellers) in Paris, Geneva and Zurich, consult me on technical, commercial and strategic issues, as well as to deepen their understanding of Vanilla. The consultations are provided in English and in French.

During this workshop I show you how to make the best out of Vanilla pods, how to choose the species according to recipes, how to prepare them, how to cook with, infuse and extract the Vanilla aromas and flavours according to differents methods so that you can choose which is the most appropriate for all the Vanilla recipes you wish to make.
