A new vanilla species growing in sympatry with Vanilla planifolia Jacks. ex Andrews (Orchidaceae) on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica, and which possess more distinct earthy aromatic precursors and develops similar flavours to those of Vanilla Pompona.
