The Planifolia Vanilla from Timor-Leste became extremely rare due to the lack of sourcing and distribution resource, mostly human resource. One big buyer so far was purchasing the green Vanilla pods, not yet cured and refined, to have full laverage on price at the detriment of the farmers. Early 2024 we have been called by MDF to go there and give guidance to the farmers in order to cure and refine the Vanilla pods and empower Timor-Leste community of agroforestry farmers. We are back with a selection of Ermera village Vanilla pods which were harvested in June 2024 and cured in the village as a Fresh Vanilla fruits, and are now in refining process in Switzerland.

 

The results are already very promissing and we will start to deliver the first Timor-Leste Supreme Fresh Vanilla by June 2025. Pre-order are open as of now if you wish to secure a quantity of the Supreme Fresh Vanilla from Timor-Leste.

 

The first aromas is clearly creamy vanilla, with delicates floral and fruity aromas, warm cocoa notes in the background and subtile efluve of tobacco and woods. We look forward to more complexity once its organoleptic profile is fully developed.

 

Pods measure from 16 to 21 cm for an targeted average weight of 7g. A kilo is about 143 beans.

      One of our Favourites among the Planifolia Vanilla Specie

      Nous avons participer à la récolte et à l'affinage de la vanille Planifolia de Timor Leste au cours d'une de nos rencontres avec les cultivateurs et après avoir expérimenté ensemble différentes méthodes il fut évident qu'il n'y a pas mieux qu'une gousse fraîche, arrivée naturellement à maturation, encore intacte et bien vivante. Des notes florales et d'herbes sauvages apparaissent au fil du temps, puis des aromes de fruits mures, d'épices, de sous-bois, presque ambrés, parfois fumés, se créent
