Reunion Island vanilla is a bit similar to Madagascar vanilla, a planifolia, refined the traditional "Bourbon" way , yet this one has stronger flavors, and is typically thin, brown or black, and extremely aromatic, oily, and supple aromas of fruit, caramel and honey. Excellent for desserts and creams as well as fish or meat dishes, notably duck and lamb.

Indicative pod length: 18–20 cm; as a natural product, pod length, width and individual weight may vary from pod to pod; the stated weight corresponds to the exact weight of pods in the lot sold; the net weight is also stated when packed and invoiced. A kilo is about 220 pods.
