The Vanilla Chamissonis, a unique and very singular vanilla specie, a collector and one of the largest vanilla pod, fleshy and oily, with notes of ripe fruits, anis and maraschino, very pronounced liquorice, tonka-bean and coumarin-like notes, fresh tobacco leaf and woody undertones, lightly buttery, and delicate floral notes in the background. These specie is so rare, it's most probably the most expensive vanilla so far, and another fabulous gift of the nature which few farmers only will spot it in the wild and sometimes cultivate under the canopy of the atlantic ocean tropical forest. It's an exclusive and limited production, available only by Sylvanilla®, and only for exceptionals creations.

Vanilla chamissonis is exceptionally slow-fruiting compared with many Neotropical Vanilla species. The fruits ripened approximately 18 months after pollination. Post-harvest curing and refining duration depends on the preparation method; this particular lot was cured and refined 24 months. Currently those are the only Chamissonis Vanilla pods from French Guyana available. You will see it mostly every 3 or 4 years only.

As we wish to encourage more vanilla farmers to cultivate this endemic vanilla specie we increase the value of the only pods still available, so that the farmers fully benefit from the added value they bring to the vanilla market with this endemic and rare vanilla specie.
